Save
verb \ˈsāv\

1 a: Keep safe or rescue (someone or something) from harm or danger.

Synonyms: rescue, come to someone's rescue, save someone's life, set free, liberate, deliver, extricate.

Saving lives is the end goal.
It's a responsibility I live with every day, the reason I wear the badge.
Built on a brotherhood that runs deeper than blood, this way of life has become my very existence...

Until Liberty.

I thought I was saving her.

I never expected her to be the one saving me.

When I first saw the cover on the author's Facebook page, I was intrigued. It looks so...movie-ish. Kinda reminded me of Jason Bourne :D

You crashed into my life with your jacked-up vibrator, and your inappropriate notes, and you saved me. You saved me when I didn't know I needed saving.

Hetch starts off about the life of Liam Hetcherson, a police officer of Trebook, Arizona. Well, now he's in the tactical team aka S.W.A.T. Hot damn. I do love my guys in uniform ;)

Anyway, Hetch is the guy who likes to have fun. No wonder Liberty Jenson is annoyed when his conquests are heard through the walls separating their apartments. But truth be told, Hetch is all kinds of sexy that she can't help being attracted to him. Their relationship doesn't start greatly but little by little, each is getting more attached to the other. But when Hetch's old nightmares come again and dredging up old scars, Liberty must hold on to Hetch or risk losing him forever.

Vanessa Mazur knows she's doing the right thing. She shouldn't feel bad for quitting. Being an assistant/housekeeper/fairy godmother to the top defensive end in the National Football Organization was always supposed to be temporary. She has plans and none of them include washing extra-large underwear longer than necessary.

But when Aiden Graves shows up at her door wanting her to come back, she's beyond shocked.

For two years, the man known as The Wall of Winnipeg couldn't find it in him to tell her good morning or congratulate her on her birthday. Now? He's asking for the unthinkable.

What do you say to the man who is used to getting everything he wants?

Mariana Zapata's first book I've read was Under Locke. I wasn't particularly impressed TBH, but then I read Lingus and I was hooked. The Wall of Winnipeg and Me had me addicted to Mariana's brand of humor and quirks.

Aiden Graves is a football star and The Wall of Winnipeg is his nickname. Well, because he's built like a wall. The silent, sometimes intimidating man is an interesting character. Though he doesn't treat Vanessa Mazur badly, he doesn't particularly care about her either. When Vanessa has enough to start on her own dreams and she quits, Aiden finds himself in need of her help, Vanessa isn't sure helping him is a good idea for her own sake--and her heart.

Love was a dream. And just like a dream, there were no assurances behind it. It didn't grow on its own. It didn't blossom without food to feed it. It was the greatest in its subtleties.

The title was kinda wacky, at my first thought. Why The Wall of Winnipeg? What's going on with Winnipeg? And I actually thought we're going to visit Canada this time *banging my head on the table* Boy I was wrong. We're still on the ground of ole' USA.

Me and Harry Potter

Just so you know, this is not a review post.
I suppose I might start from my meager history with Harry Potter.

Source
Harry Potter series is hailed as one of the best children/YA books in the world. Rowling's brand of magical world turned kids and adults alike to become hardcore fans. Harry Potter is such a legendary work of literature that people talk about even now, almost two decades of its first publication.

When I first knew about Harry Potter, Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban movie was released. It was 2004, and I was just an elementary student with no (yet, apparently) desire to read or watch Harry Potter. The young me didn't get the allure of Harry Potter. When I was still in middle school, I found a book rental that became my second home (unfortunately, it's closed already). I remembered my friends were waiting for the last book to come out, Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows. I was just starting on fantasy world, and I only read Narnia and teenlits at the time. For me, Harry Potter was so ungodly thick. I didn't even read Eragon series because at 14, I didn't want to read anything thicker than my wallet. And so... I hadn't read any Harry Potter books until this month. When I'm 22 and no longer counted as a child.
